Fragment Analyzer™ Automated CE System
DNA sizing and quantifying can be achieved using the state-of-the-art Fragment Analyzer™ Automated CE System from Advanced Analytical Technologies. The fluorescence-based capillary electrophoresis instrument detects nucleic acids by using a sensitive intercalating dye coupled with a powerful LED light source. Samples can be run individually or in as many as three 96-well sample plates at the same time. The AATIs PROSize software generates Adobe PDF format sample reports containing measured DNA/RNA size and concentration and digital gel images.
Several applications are possible with the Fragment Analyzer:
- NGS library analysis
- Plasmid DNA
- Large DNA fragments
- Genomic DNA
Specifications
The GGBC currently offers sizing and quantifying using the following kits
Kits Reference # Sizing Range Input Concentration Range
High sensitivity NGS fragment analysis DNF-474 100 bp-6,000 bp 0.5 ng/µl-5 ng/µl
High sensitivity large fragment analysis DNF-464 75 bp-48,500 bp 0.5 ng/µl-5 ng/µl
Fragments are meant to be either high Mw DNA or sequence libraries.
All kits use a standard input sample volume of 2 µl. Please submit at least 5 µl of sample in the concentration range described above. Extra charges will incur if the sample needs to be diluted, concentrated or checked on the Qubit before being tested on the fragment analyzer.
If submitting a full 96-well plate of samples, please submit exactly 2uL of sample in the concentration range described above. Please use a semi-skirted 96-well plate and leave the last column empty for the ladder to be added. If submitting less than 88 total samples, please let us know in the order form which wells have been left empty so that we can add blanks.

Contact for Financial Inquiries and Quote Requests
Please email Kim and Elizabeth at ggbc@uga.edu, for financial inquiries or to request a quote. Be as specific as possible, so that they can more quickly assist you.
Concentrations of all samples submitted for fragment analysis will be quantified by Qubit analysis in order to determine required dilution for the specified run-type(s). Additional fees will apply.
