SageELF: Sample Preparation and Submission Process

The Sage Electrophoretic Lateral Fractionator, SageELF, is a gel electrophoresis system for automated separation and elution of DNA and proteins in 12 consecutive fractions of different sizes.

For DNA fractionation, three gel cassette types are available with the following target ranges:

  • 100 bp to 2.3 kb on 2% agarose gel (call GGBC to check availability)
  • 1 kb to 18 kb on 0.75% agarose gel (in stock)
  • 10 kb to 40 kb on 0.75% agarose gel (in stock)

Submit 100 ng to 5 µg of DNA in a maximum volume of 30 µL TE or nuclease free water. Samples should be free of ligases or polymerases and have low salt concentrations.

For protein fractionation, two gel cassettes types are available with the following target ranges:

  • 10 to 150 kDa on 5% agarose gel (call GGBC to check availability)
  • 10 to 300 kDa on 3% agarose gel (call GGBC to check availability)

More information on the SageELF can be found on the Sage Science website.
